After I left a sub-par review due to an issue with a turkey decoy, I immediately receives a message from Allyson @ Higdon, she apologized for the issue and shipped out a new decoy within minutes... customer service like that will hold my support and recommendation forever. I bought a flock of five Higdon decoys, the Strutter Tom with magnetic tail fan ring malfunctions repeatedly in a mild 15 km wind, with the fan blowing the magnetic ring off. The Jake decoy broke the first time out, the stake tube inside the body is two pieces epoxies together and held with flimsy screws, it broke in the center, and required a PITA repair job. I like the look, I like the hard body design, I also like the internal stake holders and the provided individual decoy bags but the stake tube design is extremely poor engineering, I may have to redesign them all myself. Buy with full knowledge of the defects.

I bought the Apex Strutter 2 years ago and I’ve killed 2 big Tom’s using this decoy. After getting a replacement fan because the original was damaged it has been deadly. Toms can’t resist running to the kill zone.
